Our staff and management work hard to ensure that we deliver the best possible care for your loved one. Sometimes it is easy for relatives to forget just how hard our staff work and what difficult tasks they perform. There is often negative press about care homes, but those who use them know that a valuable service is being carried out each and every day.
If you are pleased with our standards of care, or if you see something that deserves a special mention, please let the manager know or write to us. We celebrate all feedback, and it makes our staff proud.
Thank you for your kind comments, our staff are excellent and deserve all the praise they get! - Stephen Gilmour (owner)
"My decision to put Mum in a Care Home was enormous but on my initial visit I was put at ease and felt reassured I was doing the right thing. The home is clean, warm, safe, with a friendly atmosphere. All my questions were answered and left me feeling this is the home for Mum.
The service is very professionally organised; medical issues dealt with promptly and I am notified when GP visits are arranged or if Mum develops anything causing concern; the staff work hard to bring care and comfort in so many ways - recording digitally their daily tasks for each resident throughout their shift.
The food and hygiene are also very good and Mum has regained her appetite, put on weight, which has levelled out in the months she has been in Barton Court Care Home.
There are regular entertainment/activity arrangements which are extremely well organised, safety being of paramount importance. I have enjoyed joining in especially the cruise from Wateringbury, on river Medway and a visit to Wingate zoo". - Jacqueline B - daughter of resident - December 2018
An affordable family run home providing just about everything you could wish for. It is bright, clean, welcoming, friendly, extremely well led by manager and assistant manager and boasts an excellent activities programme led by one of the best Activity Coordinators in town! The food is excellent and independence is promoted whenever possible. The care is exceptional and, in my view, the staff go the extra mile at every given opportunity. This care home comes highly recommended by me. - Joy D - daughter of resident - November 2018
"Barton Court provides a safe and happy experience for my husband - a day client. All of the staff members are caring, friendly and supportive. They encourage him to interact with both themselves and the clients. He greatly benefits from participating in the diverse activities which are regular features at the residence. Furthermore, I have absorbed small but positive changes in my husband's behaviour since his attendance at Barton Court. He is now more interested in food and shows an interest in what is happening around him". - Margaret P - wife of day client - October 2018
"My Dad has severe Dementia and all the staff understand and know how to deal with his needs. As I walk into the Home, everyone is very welcoming and tell me how Dad has been. The staff phone regularly to keep me up to date with any issues including GP visits and hospital appointments, and they arrange for transport and a carer to go with Dad which helps so much when dealing with stressful consultations. They ensure that Dad gets all his special dietary requirements and arrange for dietitians to come and see him at the Home. Dad is very happy at the Home, he loves music and singing and the staff often sing with him. They have activities for the residents to join in and encourage Dad when he is able.
Everyone at Barton Court is very caring and If I have any concerns, they will deal with them. Dementia is such a terrible illness but Barton Court goes a long way to helping us all cope and knowing that Dad is in safe hands. I would definitely recommend this Care Home". Susan D - daughter of resident - October 2018
Since my father became a resident at Barton Court the care he has received has been excellent, which gives me peace of mind that he is always in good hands. The home is always clean and well maintained and the staff are always friendly, we are always offered refreshments when we visit. Very glad we found Barton Court - Phil S - son of resident - October 2017
"The staff at Barton Court are a wonderful group of people. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the care they show towards the elderly residents is outstanding. Barton Court is a shining example of how a care home should be run. It is a pleasure to visit there."
Linda Thomas (daughter of resident) June 2017
